Find My 1 Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Find My 1 ("Find My 1," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, discloses, and protects personal information through findmy1.com and related services. By creating an account or using the service, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. The service is operated from New York, United States. Privacy questions and requests may be submitted through the Contact page or by email to doashiduch@gmail.com.
1. Scope and eligibility
This Policy applies to visitors, members, Matchmakers, organization users, employees, administrators, people whose profiles appear in the directory, and people who contact us. The service is intended only for people who are at least 18 years old. Do not create an account if you are under 18. Do not submit information about a person under 18 unless you are that person's parent or legal guardian or have clear authorization from the parent or legal guardian.
2. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the service, we may collect:
Account information, including name, email address, phone number, city, account type, account status, and password credentials. Passwords are stored as protected password hashes, not in readable form.
Profile and shidduch information, including names, family relationships, birth information, city, school or yeshiva, community or religious affiliation, attire information, contact numbers, references, notes, resumes, documents, and other information submitted for legitimate shidduch research.
Information submitted by families, users, Matchmakers, schools, yeshivas, organizations, authorized representatives, and other community sources.
Communications, including contact requests, corrections, reports, approval requests, and messages sent to the team.
Activity and security information, including sign-in activity, device and browser information, IP address, cookies, session identifiers, searches, filters, profile access, verification activity, audit logs, rate-limit events, and suspected misuse.
Phone and email workflow information, including verification-call status, delivery status, and responses needed to complete a requested action.
3. Sources of information
We may receive information directly from you, from another authorized user, from a family member or representative, from a verified school or yeshiva, from a Matchmaker, from a resume or list supplied for directory purposes, from a community publication or other lawfully available source, and from service providers that help us operate the service. When information did not come directly from the person concerned, that person may contact us to ask about the source and request review, correction, restriction, or removal.
4. Sensitive and religious information
Some profile information may reveal religious beliefs, community affiliation, family relationships, or other sensitive matters. We use this information only for legitimate shidduch-directory, verification, safety, and administration purposes. Where applicable law requires consent or another special legal condition, we rely on that condition and may restrict, remove, or decline to publish information when the required authority is not established.
5. How we use information
We use personal information to:
Create, authenticate, secure, and administer accounts.
Operate the directory, search, filtering, lists, private notes, profile claims, corrections, and record submissions.
Verify requested profile actions and contact authorized numbers.
Review Matchmaker and organization applications.
Prevent fraud, scraping, unauthorized copying, account sharing, harassment, and other misuse.
Investigate reports, maintain change history, restore records, and protect data integrity.
Send account, verification, approval, security, and service communications.
Comply with applicable law, enforce our Terms and Conditions, and protect the rights and safety of users and profile subjects.
6. Legal grounds where applicable
Depending on the jurisdiction and activity, we process information to provide the service you request, based on consent, for our legitimate interests in operating a careful and secure shidduch directory, to comply with legal obligations, and to protect users and other people. For sensitive or special-category information, we use an additional lawful condition where required. You may withdraw consent for future processing when consent is the applicable basis, although this does not affect processing already completed lawfully or information we must retain for legal or security reasons.
7. Who can see profile information
Access depends on account role and field settings:
Ordinary members may see fields designated for members.
Approved Matchmakers may see additional fields designated for Matchmakers.
Authorized employees and administrators may see information needed for review, support, safety, verification, and administration.
Organization users may manage records assigned to their own organization and otherwise receive ordinary member access unless additional permission is granted.
Private notes are visible only to the account that created them.
Administrative, source, audit, security, and technical fields are not intended for ordinary members. A role label or verified badge does not guarantee that every item in a profile is current or correct.
8. Disclosure and service providers
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information to authorized users according to the role rules above; to a person or organization that submitted or is authorized to manage a profile; and to vendors that provide hosting, database, storage, email, voice calling, security, analytics, and support services. These providers may include Cloudflare, Supabase, SignalWire, and email-delivery providers. They may use information only to provide contracted services, protect the service, or comply with law. We may also disclose information when legally required or reasonably necessary to protect a person, investigate abuse, or defend legal rights.
9. Automated calls and communications
If you provide your own phone number, you authorize Find My 1 to send service-related communications and automated or prerecorded verification calls to that number when you request or use a call-based feature, subject to applicable law. You may revoke permission for future calls by contacting us. You may not request a call to another person's number unless you are authorized to act for the profile and the called person has agreed to receive that verification call. Email and voice providers receive the information necessary to deliver these communications.
10. Cookies, sessions, and device recognition
We use necessary cookies, local device storage, and similar technologies for sign-in, remembered devices, preferences, security, rate limiting, and abuse prevention. Blocking necessary cookies may prevent account features from working. We do not use these technologies to sell personal information.
11. Data retention
We retain account and profile information while it is needed to provide the service, maintain accurate history, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, comply with legal obligations, and protect users. Verification, security, and audit records may be retained after an account or profile is removed when reasonably necessary for these purposes. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to backups, legal holds, fraud prevention, and technical limitations.
12. Your choices and privacy rights
Depending on where you live and subject to legal exceptions, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, restriction of, or objection to processing of personal information about you; request information about its source and recipients; withdraw consent; or receive a portable copy. You may also report an incorrect or unauthorized profile and request account deletion. Submit requests through the Contact page or doashiduch@gmail.com. We may request reasonable identity or authority verification before acting. We will not discriminate against you for exercising an applicable privacy right.
13. International users and transfers
Find My 1 is operated in the United States. Information from users or profile subjects outside the United States may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we use an available lawful transfer mechanism and appropriate safeguards. Users in the EEA or United Kingdom may also have the right to complain to their local data-protection authority.
14. Security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information, including access controls, role-based permissions, protected credentials, encrypted connections, logging, rate limits, and review procedures. No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Notify us immediately through the Contact page if you suspect unauthorized access, scraping, disclosure, or account misuse.
15. Children's privacy
The service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly permit children under 18 to create accounts. If we learn that an account was created by a child or that information about a minor was submitted without proper authority, we may suspend access and delete or restrict the information after appropriate review. A parent or legal guardian may contact us to request review.
16. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy when the service or law changes. We will post the revised version with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Continued use after the effective date means you acknowledge the updated Policy; we will request renewed consent when applicable law requires it.
17. Contact
Privacy questions, requests, complaints, and consent withdrawals may be sent through https://findmy1.com/contact or by email to doashiduch@gmail.com.
